Hourly SUMMARY Provide a safe environment, assists with activities of daily living, gives emotional and social support and attends to the resident's physical comfort.
Vulnerable Adult Mandated Reporter A mandated vulnerable adult reporter of maltreatment, neglect, and abuse of vulnerable residents/tenants.
Required to report any alleged maltreatment, neglect, or abuse to your supervisor and appropriate state agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Works alone giving total care or assists residents with:
Bed bath, tub bath or shower Dental, hair and nail care, shaving, dressing and undressing, application of make-up.
Elimination needs including toileting by offering bedpan, urinal or taking to bathroom.
Ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a walker, Wheelchair, Mechanical lift, gait belt or lift sheets.
Answers call lights promptly.
Takes and records temperatures.
Feeds residents, maintains intake and output as requested, weighs residents as instructed.
Observes and reports physical and/or behavioral changes in resident immediately to charge nurse.
Works tactfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors and the entire staff through the organization.
Knows and follows existing lines of communication and authority.
Perform all resident care as assigned and according to (facility) nursing department's policies and procedures.
Reads and follows resident's care cards.
Participates in activities for cognitively impaired residents as directed.
Attends department meetings and seminars as requested.
Changes schedule or works overtime on occasion to meet the needs of the department.
Maintains confidentiality of all the department and organizational information.
Assures that all resident rights are maintained at all times.
Reports any violations or suspected deviations according to (facility)'s policy.
Attends mandatory in services.
Follows instructions willingly, able to meet deadlines, organizational loyalty, honesty, punctual, and dependable.
Follows all safety, security, infection control (including Category 1) Has desire and ability to care for geriatric, convalescent, chronically, seriously, or terminally ill residents with respect, caring, and understanding.
Must be able to communicate orally or in writing with residents, co-workers, families, and public.
Have a pleasant manner and good grooming and hygiene.
Must be able to work well with others and must have willingness to accept correction as warranted.
Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, without posing a direct threat to other employees, residents, or self.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma.
Registered as a Nursing Assistant LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to deal effectively with stress created by sick residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and must be able to work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
(Continuously) CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Nursing Assistant training and current registration on Minnesota Aide Registry.
Minimum of 16 years of age.
