Job Description:
The Safety Specialist works with Operations Leadership and associates across the Processing Facility and Minnesota Fab Shop to support a strong safety culture and is responsible for ensuring the Processing Facility is compliant with all OSHA, Federal, and State/Local guidelines. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise on Cambria safety standards and programs Conduct industrial hygiene and noise sampling Support to continuously improve the following programs:
incident reporting and investigation, emergency preparedness, hazardous communication, lock-out-tag-out, crane, forklift, respirator protection, confined space, fall protection, blood borne pathogen, emergency response plans, and hearing conservation Ensure the processing facility is compliant with all OSHA, Federal and State/Local guidelines, requirements and Cambria safety standards by auditing all safety training activities Advise, inform and generate reports for operations leadership on relevant safety initiatives based on findings during monthly audits Assist with accident or near miss investigations Facilitate the Safety Improvement Team Monitor inventory for safety supplies and interact with vendors Support the ERT (Emergency Response Team) trainConduct industrial hygiene and noise sampling Communicate effectively with all employees Keep work area clean and orderly Handle chemicals Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Additional duties as assigned by management Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) 1-3 years relevant experience Knowledge of OSHA regulations for General Industry Lock-out-tag-out, respirators, and confined space Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products Crane and forklift experience Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Basic math skills Mechanically inclined Industrial work experience Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
Experience:
Safety experience in manufacturing field preferred Cambria Success Factors:
High attention to detail Reliable and punctual Direct communication Sense of urgency in completing work Capable of multitasking Work well both independently and with a team Self-motivated Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs. Push/pull 100 lbs. Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises Work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift Bend over multiple times throughout shift Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
